Ever since I first picked up a camera and learned how to use it (in highschool) I have always been drawn to using the time behind the camera as my time with God. While there are times I spend time in the Word, or sing praise songs (in my head and out loud), lay awake at night praying, I have to say that photographing all that He has created is one of my favorites. In my 20's my mom and I would go on Women's Retreats together in some of the most beautiful mountains that Southern California offers. Every day there was a set time where it was "Silent Time with God". I would grab my camera and go out into the wilderness and photograph all the beauty that He created. To this day, when I go out and photograph, it's not about taking pictures and showing them off, it's about seeing the beauty around me, seeing how to capture it so it means something.
Today my husband and I went to the greenhouse. Of course I brought my camera. We walked around their gardens together, talked about the different plants and just enjoyed our time together doing something we both enjoy. We were surrounded by beauty and sweet little kitties. We talked about what we wanted for our garden, we shared ideas and asked questions when we saw the owners. They gave us invaluable information to help us grow our garden organically. While we were walking through the gardens, I was in awe of all the bright colors, the smells of the flowers, and the quiet sitting areas they had so you could relax and enjoy. Here are some of my favorite shots. Thank you Lord for your creations, and for the privilege to enjoy them. Blessed beyond belief.
